WHAT IS A ROTATING DROP SCHEDULE?

What it means

A drop schedule is a rotating school schedule in which one or more class periods are not held on a given day. This allows classes to meet at different times, creates longer learning blocks, and helps students and teachers use time in more flexible and intentional ways.

What it looks like

Each day will include a six class blocks, with two class periods “dropping” from the daily rotation. The full cycle repeats across several days.

Why it matters

The schedule is designed to support deeper learning, reduce daily homework load, provide more flexibility, and create opportunities for student support and wellness.
