Girls Basketball Make History with Championship Win
Our Ardsley Varsity Girls Basketball Team made history this weekend by securing its first-ever state girls basketball title, defeating Wantagh 39-28 in the Class A state championship game on Saturday. After a strong performance on Friday, the Panthers advanced to the championship by defeating Williamsville South 47-35. With two impressive victories, Ardsley Girls Basketball solidified its position among New York's top high school basketball teams.
In the final match against Wantagh, the Panthers’ defense played a crucial role in their success. Ardsley recorded eight steals and five blocks, effectively disrupting Wantagh's offense throughout the game. The Panthers maintained a steady lead with their teamwork and strategic execution on both ends of the court.
A huge Ardsley Panther congratulations to this team!! This championship marks a significant achievement for our basketball program and highlights the dedication and skill of the team's players and coaching staff. The victory will be remembered as a milestone in Ardsley Athletics history, inspiring future generations of athletes in our community.
